After some exploratory site selection work in Kittery, a vacant building at 10 Shapleigh Road was further determined to be potentially suitable for the development of a brewery. Though a complete building renovation plan was created for the multi-use facility, eventually the focus became getting the startup brewery launched from the inside-out. Detailed planning assistance with equipment location and layout and ultimately coordinating the efforts between the contractors and equipment suppliers became a dramatic role.
New openings in the masonry walls were created to provide day-lit spaces for the employees as well creating viewing to the brew house to enhance the tasting experience. Code review, drawings, and documentation was provided for local and state fire marshall approval to allow for the desired program and event functions and overall multi-faceted use of the newly crafted space.
