This project structurally repairs and modernizes Building 174, a 161,410 square foot West End Waterfront Support Facility, to create a consolidated state-of-the-art Shipyard facility supporting submarine repair and overhaul missions; increasing efficiency while decreasing waste, and improving ship operational availability.

The project will be designed to provide annual energy savings of 51 +/-million BTU’s/year in part by implementing photovoltaic (PV) power generation and solar thermal heating. In addition the design for the project will meet the LEED BD+C Silver Certification threshold. Interior design of the Waterfront Support Facility incorporates functionality, aesthetics, safety, and sustainability to improve the occupants efficiency and productivity.
