This project required the complete renovation of a 1960's era mixed-use building in downtown Reading, Massachusetts. The exterior cladding and windows were replaced with a more energy efficient curtain wall glazing system, new storefronts and a new signature entry hall that features a high sloping roof with a deep overhang. The design responds to the original International Style rectilinear grid facade by creating a new, more subtle pattern of window and spandrel panels. Combined with the renovations to the interior common spaces, the improved thermal performance and daylighting of the design created leasable spaces that were far more marketable than the original.
